The Zachary Food Pantry is located at 5640 Rollins Road.  This new facility officially opened on Monday, June 10, 2013.  In 2013, the Zachary Food Pantry celebrated its 25th anniversary.  The pantry is staffed by 32 dedicated volunteer workers who serve 374 families a month in the Zachary community. The Zachary Food Pantry distributes meals, sundries and paper goods every Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.  If anyone is hungry or a family is in need, contact the Zachary Food Pantry Cell Phone at 225 247-8859.  

All households must apply and be certified to receive monthly commodities, meeting certain income criteria. 

Adopted January 2014 - Qualifications for families receiving food from the Zachary Food Pantry:

• Must reside in the Zachary Community School District legal boundary.
• Must provide picture ID
• Must show proof of income for each adult in the household or provide a Food Stamp Letter
• Must provide a copy of a current utility bill proving residency

In 2012, The Zachary Men's Club donated a parcel of land to accommodate the new larger building.  GM Builders of Baton Rouge built the new building for $306,200.  City workers, Department of Public Works employees and the city's chief engineering firm, PEC, performed all of the sewer and water work.  The Zachary Food Pantry is owned and maintained by the City of Zachary.  The local Zachary Rotary Club landscaped the building as their annual service project to the community in 2013.  In 2016 the Zachary Rotary Club donated outdoor benches for patrons of the Zachary Food Pantry.

The Zachary Community supports this food pantry. Throughout the year and through the Pack the Pantry Campaign,  Zachary schools, local business, individual citizens, boy scout troops, churches, The Rotary Club of Zachary, Men's Club, Zachary Fire Department, Zachary Police Department, Legendz Sports Academy, Louisiana Cattlemen's Association and Waste Management have all donated several tons of food collectively.  

The Zachary Food Pantry is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) tax exempt charitable organization under section 170 of the IRS Code.  Zachary Food Pantry,  Inc. is an equal opportunity provider.  The Zachary Food Pantry is governed by The Zachary Food Pantry Board.  As of July 2016 Board members include, William Hodgkins, President, Sam Johnson, Vice-President, Jackie Snowden, Secretary and Members at Large - Randy Ashford, Jeanne Browning, Tommy Daigle, Beryl Gordy, Dr. Maxwell Lea, Chloe McCleary, Bill Norris, Floyd Pelichet, Sharon Phillips and Laura Steen.

Statistics for Year 2014:

• A total of 477 volunteers donated/worked over 6,130 hours at the Zachary Food Pantry.
• The Zachary Food Pantry served 3,569 households in 2014, which included 3,554 children, 5,150 adults and 1,183 elderly persons.
