John C. Hopewell, III was appointed the Zachary City Attorney in 2011.  As the City Attorney, he is the chief legal officer for the City of Zachary.  With over 24 years of practice experience handling commercial and residential transactional real estate related matters, collections and successions,  he also serves as the Managing Member for Certain Title & Escrow, LLC and the Hopewell Law Firm, LLC.   In general commercial practice for the first nine years of his professional legal career, he also shared that firm's responsibilities for clients with bankruptcy, real property and other commercial litigation concerns.  He has been a Notary Public since 1984 and worked as a commercial loan officer during a banking career prior to graduation from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center on the campus of Louisiana State University (B.S. - 1980, J.D. - 1991).  He has served on numerous boards including the Zachary Chamber of Commerce and presently serves on the Board of Directors of Guaranty Bank & Trust Company – New Roads.

David “Ricky” McDavid, Jr. was appointed as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Zachary in 2013. He is a native of Zachary, having lived here his entire life. He began practicing law in 2008 at the Myles Law Firm and Leader Title Company where he currently continues his practice. He practices in the areas of real estate, estate planning, successions and general litigation. He is a graduate of Zachary High School (2001), Louisiana State University (B.S. – 2005) and Southern University Law Center (J.D. – 2008).
