Sharon Phillips serves as the Public Information Officer for the City of Zachary. She has worked in the public relations field for more than 30 years, specializing in government relations. 

The Public Relations Coordinator serves to nourish good citizenship by promoting and earning public trust; provides leadership and high-quality service by consistently communicating with citizens about their needs and aspirations; works with Council members, the Mayor and all City of Zachary departments so that procedures, programs and events within the government can be properly reported to the public.

The Public Relations Coordinator also provides, plans and organizes programs and services designed to inform the public and to generate support from the public for local government. She works with each city department to plan and promote special events and coordinate the release of daily news, through press releases, city website, Facebook, Twitter, as well as Metro 21, East Baton Rouge Parish’s Governmental Cable TV channel.
