Annison House
The Annison House, located at 21475 Old Scenic Highway is a 200-year-old antebellum home located just outside Zachary city limits in what is considered part of the Zachary Historical Village. Heirs of Ethel Brabham Annison donated the home to the City of Zachary in 2002. To preserve its authenticity and in keeping with Ethel Annison’s wishes that the home serve as an antebellum museum, the city removed the bathroom and kitchen. Back then, those rooms were not part of a plantation’s original living spaces. In 2015, a handicap restroom facility and companion handicap accessible ramp was added to the house.
